The 13th CREST Open Workshop

Future Internet Testing (FITTEST) & Search Based Software Engineering (SBSE)

Date:

Thursday 12th - Friday 13th May 2011

Venue:

William Goodenough Room, Goodenough Club (Directions)

Overview:

Search Based Software Engineering (SBSE) is an approach to software engineering in which search based optimization algorithms are used to identify optimal or near optimal solutions and to yield insight. There has been much recent activity in the field of SBSE with exciting results in many areas of Software Engineering including, Requirements, Planning, Prediction, Design, Testing, Bug Fixing, Maintenance and Re-Engineering.

SBSE's success derives from the manner in which SBSE techniques can cater for multiple, possibly completing objectives and constraints, coping and scaling well in  applications where the potential solution space is large and complex.

SBSE makes few assumptions about the underlying problem it is attempting to solve and is inherently adaptive. Hence it is ideal to cope with the dynamic, self-adapting, autonomous and unpredictable behavior of Future Internet Applications.

This workshop will bring together researchers and practitioners for a two day informal workshop to discuss recent developments and the possible directions for future work and industrial uptake of recent technological developments.
