The SCALE grant explored the relationship between research at Osaka University and the CREST centre. Techniques for developing clone detection were developed, leading to work on search based and dependence based clone detection. The project also supported two international workshops, held in London under the CREST Open Workshop (COW) programme, that explored, inter alia, connections between the work at Osaka and work on program slicing and clone detection within the UK.
